Section 1Who can order
You must be at least 18, or 13 or older with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You must provide accurate information and are responsible for everything submitted through your order.
Section 2What you're buying
- One or more physical cards — printed with the details you provide, or all black with nothing printed if you buy Blackout cards — collected in person at our pickup location.
- A hosted profile page at a hammercard.org URL that displays your name, title, bio, links, and any resume or CV you upload.
Card artwork, layout, and the hosted page are provided as-is. We may make reasonable design and typographic choices. For orders placed on or after September 15, 2026, your page is hosted for as long as your membership is active (Section 5); if it ends, the page shows only your name and a save-contact button until you renew. Orders placed before that date include hosting at no recurring charge for as long as we operate the service. We do not guarantee indefinite availability.
Section 3Content standards — keep it appropriate
Everything you submit — your chosen URL/handle, name, title, bio, links, uploaded files, and any other content — must be appropriate and lawful. You agree not to submit content that:
- Contains profanity, slurs, hate speech, or harassing, threatening, or discriminatory language;
- Is sexual, obscene, violent, or otherwise offensive;
- Impersonates another person, or uses a name, handle, or brand you do not have the right to use;
- Is false, misleading, or fraudulent, including fabricated employers, titles, or credentials;
- Infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- Contains malware, links to harmful or illegal material, or promotes illegal activity.
We may reject, edit, or refuse to print or host any order or content at our sole discretion, before or after payment, if we believe it violates these standards. If we cancel an order for this reason before printing, we will refund it. We are not obligated to review content, and displaying a page does not mean we endorse it.
Section 4Your content and license
You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, print, and publicly display your content for the purpose of fulfilling your order and hosting your page. You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that your content does not violate Section 3.
Section 5Pricing and payment
A Hammer Card is a membership: the price shown at checkout ($11.88 for one year, advertised as $0.99 a month, or $1.49 billed monthly, plus any extra cards) is charged when you order, and renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current membership price until you cancel. We email you before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from your account page; your page stays live until the end of the period you have paid for, and no further charges are made. Extra and custom cards are one-time charges. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card details. All prices are in U.S. dollars. You are responsible for any applicable taxes not collected at checkout. Orders placed before September 15, 2026 were one-time purchases and are not enrolled in a membership.
Section 6Pickup
We do not deliver or ship cards. Orders are collected in person at Hicks Library, 11am–8pm. Pickup times and location may change; we will post any change on this site or contact you at the email you gave at checkout.
Section 7Refunds and cancellations
Cancelling a membership stops future renewals; the current period is not refunded once the card has been collected or the page has been live for more than 14 days. Because custom cards are personalized and printed to order, orders generally cannot be cancelled or refunded once printing has begun. If your order has not yet been printed, contact us and we will try to accommodate a change or cancellation. If a card arrives defective or materially different from what you ordered, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a replacement or refund at our discretion.
Section 8Acceptable use of hosted pages
You may not use a hosted page to distribute spam, malware, or unlawful content, to collect data deceptively, or in any way that violates Section 3. We may suspend or remove any page that violates these Terms or that we believe exposes us to legal risk, and may remove pages if we discontinue the service.
Section 9Disclaimers
THE SERVICE, CARDS, AND HOSTED PAGES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that hosted pages will always be available.
Section 10Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HAMMER CARD AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OPPORTUNITIES, OR REPUTATION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE ORDER GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Section 11Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hammer Card and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.
Section 12Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
